38 wks & 4 days

We went to the doctor yesterday (Feb 26th) and I'm still 1 cm and I'm now 25% effaced, which is more than last time, last time I wasn't thinned out at all. Not a whole lot has changed but we're getting closer!! I have been having a lot of braxton hicks contractions, pains in my hip area, and some really painful contractions here and there the last few days. We're so anxious, and even though I know I won't ever officially have everything perfectly together and organized before she comes, we are still always frantically working on things for the baby or the baby's room. It's very exciting and overwhelming all at the same time. Though there is still a lot I would like to get accomplished, I would say all the basic things that we'll need for our newborn are ready, we'll make it and be just fine, with that said, we're ready for her anytime she wants to come into our world.

37 weeks

We had our ultra sound on Monday, and she measures to be about 6 lbs right now, so it looks like she'll be a pretty small baby, but nothing concerning. Everything looks good (fluid, baby's organs, etc.) she's doing good and is healthy. There isn't really anything new from the last update as far as dilation and everything. I think I have maybe been having some contractions here and there. We go again next Thursday (Feb. 26) for another checkup. We have been working really hard to get all the baby stuff ready. Jesse has been working hard on baby furniture and it's turning out so awesome. I will post pictures as soon as we get it all done with the bedding and when the glider is done.

36 week checkup

I had my doctor visit yesterday (Feb. 11) and everything looks good. She said that my cervix is starting to soften and I'm 1 cm dilated. It doesn't really mean a whole lot because you can walk around for weeks being 4 cm dilated, but at least my body it starting to get ready for labor. It's very exciting, but at the same time it makes me even more overwhelmed with all that we still have to get done and organized. We go again on Monday for an ultra sound, YAY!!!

36 Weeks!

I am now 9 months pregnant, I can't believe it! It just seems unreal that we will have our precious little one in our arms in a month. I went to the doctor Friday (Feb. 6) and everything is great. I go again tomorrow (Feb. 11) again for another checkup, and then I'm going baby shopping. I have to go to the doctor every week now, and they will check every time to see if anything is going on yet, nothing so far. Next week, the checkup after this one, will be the last ultra sound, we're really excited, but not as excited as the day our sweet little baby gets here. I had my second baby shower last Saturday, and it was great. My friend Michal Beth put it together for me, with the help from another friend, April Roberts, and then my mom and aunt Stephanie helped Sat. morning on decorating (their favorite thing to do). It was decorated very nice, they did a wonderful job, I was thrilled. We had a pretty good turn out and are still receiving gifts from those who couldn't make it.

35 weeks (only 5 weeks left!)

We are at 35 weeks now, just one week short of 9 months!! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone by. I'm still feeling really good, it's just getting harder to get comfortable at night in bed when I'm trying sleep. We have our baby shower next Saturday (Feb.7th) at our church, Little Chapel, at 12 noon, I'm really excited! I go to the my next doctor appointment on Friday (Feb. 6) just for a check-up. I think she said we will be doing the group B strep test that day, it's regulatory for everybody at this stage of pregnancy to see if the mother is a carrier of strep because it can be given to the baby at delivery and cause pneumonia, so with this they can know if they need to give me an antibiotic when I'm in labor to get rid of it before the baby comes out. I posted a few pictures that Jesse took of me and my pregnant belly today.
